FAQs
I am a picky eater but want to lose weight. What can you do?
Everyone has food preferences including intolerances and Allergies. When it comes to meal planning, flexibility is key. If you have a very restricted diet, it can be difficult to create a diverse meal plan for you. We are dietitians and focus on health and performance. We enjoy cooking and have a database of recipes, but we like to focus on the root of the issue or concern, and leave finding the perfect tasting meal up to you.
Do you require food logging?
We do not always require food logging. However, 99.9% of the time, we find it is very difficult for everyone to remember what they eat and snack on throughout any given day. For us to make accurate recommendations we do need to have an accurate visual picture of what /when/ and how much you eat. We use food logging via photos and other food logging that includes measuring.
Do you have special dietary options?
Yes, we offer an array of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. If you have other dietary requirements, please inform your server, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.
How should I prepare for my initial consultation?
The initial consultation is when we gather a comprehensive intake of your medical history (surgeries, conditions, medications), learn about your daily work and family lifestyle, discuss previous weight loss successes/challenges (if Applicable), and create Short & Long term goals, including specific tasks to focus on for the next two weeks.
To prepare, have results from blood draws available (within past year) – if your doctor did not provide them, you can find them by creating an account with Labcorp/Quest, or request them in your Doctor’s patient portal.
I have tried to lose weight many times, why should I work with you?
We can identify behaviors and lifestyle challenges that you may overlook. Often, in an effort to lose weight quickly, people make drastic changes to their eating and exercise that are not sustainable. We create practical step goals and are available for accountability in between sessions.
How many sessions should I sign up for?
The first session is data gathering so we can identify where and how to create goals and habits that will lead you toward success. Three sessions are the minimum to get started with initial changes and implementation. Most all clients, maintain working with us for 3 – 6 months in order to implement change that lasts.
